Department of Visual and Urban Design,
School of Design and Architecture, Nagoya City University.

Academic Background
1996- Associate Professor of Nagoya City University
1985-1996 Associate Professor of Nagoya City College of Child Education
1980-1985 Senior Lecturer of Nagoya City College of Child Education
1983 Doctor of Agriculture (Kyushu University)
1977 Master of Agriculture (Kyushu University)
1975 Bachelor of Agriculture (Kyushu University)

Research Domain
1995 - Promotion of community participation in both the design and administration of parks in the city area. Coordination in the design of city parks among nature conservation groups, regional children and habitants, primary school teachers, city officials and landscape,
1991- Research on the development and preservation of the ecological environment within the Nagoya area. In order to draw up guidelines for suburban forest management, the relationship between tree species and soil properties in secondary forests of both parks and green areas designated by city planning was investigated.
1882-1994 Development of methods of environmental education for both nursery and primary schools, for example, the cultivation of vegetables and observation and conservation of natural environments.
1983-1994 The physical chemistry of the adsorption of phenolic acids by the dominant soil clay minerals was studied in cooperation with the Soil Science Laboratory of Nagoya University in order to elucidate the behavior of organic compounds in soils.
1974-1983 A numerical analysis of the charge characteristics of volcanic-ash-derived soils was carried out by means of computer technology in order to improve both crop productivity of crops and the retention of inorganic plant nutrients. A doctorユs degree was obtained as a result of this work.
