工学博士（東京大学）。フィレンツェ大学、トリノ工科大学、パドヴァ大学招聘教授。国内およびイタリアにおける歴史的建造物の保存に関する研究プロジェクトリーダー。ASCoT耐震性能評価委員会委員長（2021～）、史跡原爆ドーム保存技術指導委員会委員（2018～）、Best Paper Award 2020。

千葉大学大学院博士後期課程修了。博士(農学)。登録ランドスケープアーキテクト、各務原市景観アドバイザー。これまでに設計したプロジェクトで、国土交通大臣賞(2016)、日本経済新聞社賞(2018)、日本植木協会賞(2019)、Lighting Design Awards(2020)など受賞。主な著書に「日本の美しい庭園図鑑 」「世界の美しい庭園図鑑 」ほか。
