工学博士（東京大学）。フィレンツェ大学、トリノ工科大学、パドヴァ大学招聘教授。国内およびイタリアにおける歴史的建造物の保存に関する研究プロジェクトリーダー。ASCoT耐震性能評価委員会委員長（2021～）、史跡原爆ドーム保存技術指導委員会委員（2018～）、Best Paper Award 2020。
